Sign of solidarity: DFB

The German Football Association and its 21 national associations have called for a nationwide solidarity day and donations for people in Ukraine. “All active footballers, volunteers, as well as fans and spectators on Germany’s sports courts, have the opportunity to set another joint sign for peace and solidarity on the weekend,” the DFB announced on Tuesday. The association and the foundation of the national team will increase the incoming donations by up to 200,000 euros.

Various foundations fill notilfonds

Many clubs from the amateur and professional football have collected funds and goods for people in Ukraine and refugees in the past few weeks and for refugees, it says in the appeal. In addition, the DFB Foundation of Egidius Braun and the Foundation of the German National Team, together with Dietmar Hopp Stiftung, has paid 1.1 million euros to an emergency physical office. The coming weekend is intended to stand throughout German football – from the county league to the national team – in the sign of Ukraine help.

All incoming donations would be collected by the DFB Foundation Egidius Braun on a specially furnished special account and used without any deduction to the needy people in Ukraine or used for appropriate aid projects.
