Fire Emblem Fates, known in Japan Under the title Fire Emblem If (ファイアーエム ブレム IF, Emuburemu IFU) is a tactical role video game developed by Intelligent Systems and Nintendo SPD and published by Nintendo, released on June 25, 2015, the February 19, 2016 in North America and May 20, 2016 in Europe and Australia on Nintendo 3DS. It is the fourteenth main title of the Fire Emblem series, the twelfth if the remakes are excluded from previous games. This is the second game of the Fire Emblem series to go out on Nintendo 3DS, after Fire Emblem: Awakening. The game is marketed in two different versions, heritage and conquest, offering opposite scenarios. A third scenario, revelations, is also offered for download. Fire Emblem Fates is thus designed so that the gaming experience is not complete without playing the three versions.
