Battlefield 2042 The beta

Finally, the beta phase is started by Battlefield 2042 . While most players have to be patient until Friday, pre-orderers and EA play members may already start today.

Only a few hours after the start of the beta, Elanalistadebits created a detailed comparison video. Here the graphics and performance was tested on the individual PlayStation consoles.

The obsolete PlayStation 4 from 2013 can show a full HD resolution. The PRO variant indicates 1620 pixels while the PlayStation 5 has a 4K resolution. At the beginning of the video the visible differences are demonstrated.

On the PS4 and the PS4 Pro, the resolution is apparently not played dynamically. However, this could be the case in particularly hectic situations. The new Sony console has a dynamic resolution that sounds down to 1800 pixels in certain moments.

In the PS4 versions, the maps fall significantly smaller, which is due to the lower number of players. Therefore, CrossSplay has been dispensed between the old and the new consoles.

Refresh frequency fluctuates between 50 and 60 fps

The frame rate moves both on PS4 and PS4 per between 50 and 60 fps. In occasional game moments, it even falls below the 50 fps brand. We watch the same on the PS5.

With regard to optical quality, the PS5 is little surprisingly clear. We notice that among other things in the textures, the shadow quality and the visibility.

Because it is a beta version, a lot can change until the publication on November 19th. However, the game scenes shown in the video are promising. What is improved and supplemented in the final version, you can read in the following article.

Next to the PlayStation appears Battlefield 2042 for Xbox Series X / S, Xbox One and PC. Look at the comparison video here yourself:
